One highlight has been the new arrival of Paul Hudson to Elim missions, I now feel very optimistic after hearing pauls vision for the future.

We wish you a prosperous new year and Gods richest blessing for 2014.

Monday 26 August 2013

Well I am very tired this morning, because we have just arrived back yesterday from a weekend retreat with 20s and 30s age group (TNT. We spent a few days in an old farmhouse in the andalucian countryside. The setting was idyllic and it provided a great environment for encountering God. The weekend theme was all about Intimacy with God and unity with each other. I taught on the 3 steps to intimacy and we had a video of American Pastor from the bayside church, Chris Brown talking about intimacy with God in a famine. The whole weekend had the hallmark of God on it and everybody came back shattered which is also an indicator that everybody enjoyed it. This group has grown from around 4 to 15 people and we are encouraged by the way God is blessing this ministry. Please pray for Naomi, Melissa and I, that God will continue to use us to minister to the dear folks of Spain. P.s the temperature can be around 38 to 45 this time of year! el scrorchio!!

Monday 12 August 2013

We are about to take our 20s and 30s group away to house in the country for a weekend away. We will be teaching about growing more intimate with God. This group (although quite transient, like the rest of the church) is flourishing and they have now started the very own worship band. They will be coming with me as I guest speak at a church in Marbella this September. One girl came last year for about 5 months rededicated her life to the Lord, she then got married and moved to Australia. So we are sometimes just there for people at the right time. We meet bi-weekly in the church to worship God too!

It is hotting up in Spain!!!! I was driving home last night at 7.30 in the evening and the temperature gauge read 36 degrees, It can be 40 on some days in august. The heat is quite tiring but nevertheless their is lots to be getting on with. Spanish news I am sure you have all heard about the tragedy which took place in the north of Spain on the rails. Although it is far away the shock was felt all over the country. We continue to pray for all those effected. Political corruption cases are ongoing in Spain involving the Spanish president even though most of Spain is on holiday for august. Gibraltar is an hour drive from us and we are in relationship with churches there. please pray into this ongoing saga between them and Spain. Gibraltar and Britain believe in self determination. For all the latest Spanish news you can listen to my show on thursday when I speak to the editor of a national newspaper in Madrid EL PAIS. www.talkradioeurope.com Lots going on in the church, We are working on a joint bilingual worship night to take place in the main square in Benalmadena, we will be inviting churches from all over Malaga to join us. John Glass the GS of Elim will be with us on the 13th of October and will be ministering in our Sunday morning meeting and doing a leaders session for ministers from all over Malaga and Gibraltar. Please keep Naomi, little Melissa and I in your prayers and if you would like to support our ministry please contact elim missions or myself Hodgsoninspain@gmail.com Elim International Missions Elim International Centre, De Walden Road West Malvern, WR14 4DF T: 0845 302 6750 or 01684 588 940 F: 0845 302 6752 General Enquiries: missions@elimhq.net Many thanks for your ongoing support.

This week I had the pleasure of Interviewing Noel Richards, Song writer and musician. We will be collaborating with him more in the future as he is now based on the Spanish island of Mallorca. He talked about his upbringing and his career as a Christian songwriter. Yesterday I preached about Centurion from Luke 7, I made the point that we cannot make deals with God. The Jewish elders said to Jesus that you must help this centurion as he "loves our nation and built the synagogue. The centurion viewed himself lower by saying to Jesus "I am not worthy to have you come under my roof" View yourself correctly and rely on Gods grace and mercy. Last week I was asked by a member of our non church community to convene a funeral at the crematorium. Around 400 non believers attended and I was able to sensitively share the message of the Gospel to bar owners and restaurants owners along with entertainers and retired folk to name a few. I was asked because the widow liked a previous service I convened a few months ago. Praise God for giving me a door way into our community. As I write this we have a keep fit class is taking place in the main church, needless to say I am worn out just listening to them. Please keep Naomi, Melissa and I in your prayers. should you require any information on how you can support our ministry financially then please contact. Preaching the Gospel on the Streets of Torremolinos

Preaching the Gospel on the Streets of Torremolinos. As many of you will be aware I have been an Elim missionary in Spain since 2009. When we traditionally think of missions we may drift to Africa or Asia in our minds and rightly so the gospel is needed there. My goal has been to make people aware of the desperate need in western europe. Spain is in a mega financial crisis and amidst all of that it is rapidly becoming secular nation. On another level though the doors are beginning to open to the Gospel being preached on the streets. Last friday I had the honour of being invited by another Church to pray for Spain on the stage. I was praying in the centre of Spain's first Holiday resort, Torremolinos. I also introduced our Church band to lead some worship time. Please pray for Spain, please pray for us too, that the door will remain open to us. Car update, We have our car back now, it cost 600 euros to repair. We are in need of sponsors for our ministry, you can give as little as 5 euros a month or whatever amount you feel God is asking you to give. It would be most useful to our ministry here in Spain. Please contact Elim International Missions Elim International Centre, De Walden Road West Malvern, WR14 4DF T: 0845 302 6750 or 01684 588 940 F: 0845 302 6752 General Enquiries: missions@elimhq.net

Conversions and car problems.

Dear friends and supporters, Church Ministry. We have been blessed so much of late! 2 weeks ago I preached the Gospel and three people gave their lives to the Lord! Graham from Sheffield he is in his early sixties, his wife has been a Christian for years and he has never felt right about it, until hearing the gospel two Sundays ago. He claims his life is now changed. John, a french man in his sixties too! He was brought up in a Christian family, his dad was an evangelical pastor. He gave his life to Christ for the first time in our sunday morning meeting last week. Linda English married to a french man, She became a Christian too, she owns a bar here and finds it difficult to find the time to come to church. Youth weekend away, I have just booked a house in the country to take our 20 somethings away and meet with God. through this group a Spaniard called Bruno has recently come to faith in Christ. Please pray for our ministry and these dear folk that God has entrusted into our care. Car problems Our car has recently been losing power and the engine management light has come on, we have been told that it may need a catalytic converter change. this could be hundreds if not thousands of euros. please can you pray that God will supply our needs. We need this car for my part time Job each day in Marbella. Every blessing, Dave

Last Sunday after preaching I made an appeal and 2 men became Christians. One french man in his sixties whose father is an evangelical pastor and an English man in his sixties called graham from Sheffield, its not just the young that respond, Praise God!
Today I Interviewed a freelance journalist who wrote an article for the daily mail. The article showed two photos one of an empty church of england and the other of a full mosque. The author claimed that this was a picture of How Britain has changed, I challenged him to look at the bigger picture, to consider the pentecostal churches that are experiencing growth, to consider Kensington temple and the like. What a doorway God has given me to be able to challenge those who make the headlines.

Latest news from the Elim mission field in Spain. Spain now has 27 percent unemployed and the goverment are sticking to their austerity guns. In the midst of this financial crisis God is doing some amazing things. We seeked to build up a relationship with the town hall and consequently we have been given permission to have Christian events this was previously unheard of in this area and certainly sets new precedents. Each week we feed upto 40 families who are on very low incomes. We have Spanish, S. Americans and British people coming to this lunch every wednesday. We have been able to share the love of Christ with these dear folks. We want to thank each of our supporters, the church is unable to pay a wage. If you would like to give a regular payment to this ministry it would be most helpful. Every pound we recieve is a blessing to us and the people we are ministering to. Praise God for all he is doing, we pray that God will richly bless you.
