Church news we had a suprise visit from Elim Evangelist Marilyn Harry yesterday and nice to catch up with her. The 20s and 30s group are very excited about organizing a prayer room for the rest of the church which will form part of a half night of prayer in November. My Radio show is going well and enjoyed interviewing Angela Rippon last week and Derek Martin alias Charlie Slater from eastenders. More news from the mission field in Spain We are currently seeing lots of success with our food bank, we are currently feeding around 40 families in Benalmadena Spain. These families have been means tested by the local social services. We are also finding lots of opportunities to pray with these dear folk and in some cases lead them to Lord. One particular gentlman is now attending our sunday meetings. In addition to this we are now serving soup and sandwiches to homeless and low income families on a wednesday every week. We heard the sad news this week that one of our regulars who was only in his 40s died on a park bench overnight. He has no id passport etc and no way of contacting his family if he has any. Please keep myself, Naomi and the church in the forefront of your prayers. Thanks to our sponsors without you this would not be possible. If you would like to sponsor us as a missionary family please email. Hodgsoninspain@gmail.com I will then forward you a form to send to elim international missions, it is as easy as that. Every blessing Dave
More news from the mission field in Spain Naomi Coley Hodgsonç Looking forward to this Sunday as two of our TnT (Twenties and Thirties) group are to be baptised! This is so fantastic! The perfect way to celebrate my birthday ;) It is so encouraging to see how two young people have decided to make their commitment to God more secure and public as a result of spending time with, and having fun with, our great group of young adults. It just shows that when we believe what we say and do what we believe this is a great witness to others around us.

More news from the mission field. A Busy week again, where to begin? Two of my original youth group members from Coventry, Sarah Adams and Kat Watkin have come to visit and its been lovely seeing them again. The 20s and 30s group has some very exciting ventures coming up but we cannot give too much away, watch this space! Last week we had a prayer walk around the plaza where in September we will be holding a concert of Christian music. This is virtually unheard of in Spain! But a new day is dawning in Spain and we want to make the most of every opportunity God gives to preach the gospel. On a personal level, Melissa is doing very well and has her dads cheekiness. The temperature is in the 30s and that is when it is mild. Please keep praying for us and if you would like to support us financially either contact myself or Elim Missions. P.s 2 weeks ago I had the honour of baptizing 6 people in the med sea, Praise God!

More News from the Mission field in Spain: Yesterday was a fantastic day in the church, we invited the mums and dads from our Tiny Tots group to a graduation service for the toddlers who are going to school next year. My fantastic wife Naomi planned and executed a great meeting and she also shared from Gods word too. We had loads of great feedback and it also served to further our relationship with some of the parents and led to some interesting conversations about the Christian faith with others. We also had a great 20s and 30s meeting last night where we sought to plan a programe that we could take around the churches on the Costa del sol. Last Thursday I interviewed Bobby Ball on my secular radio show, this became an opportunity to talk about his faith in God. I thank God that he has opened door for me to be known in the community and I believe I have earn the right to talk about my faith now more than ever in that forum. Not forgetting the Christian show on Sundays where we are free completely to preach the Gospel, all this on the biggest expat radio station in Spain. please pray for Naomi, Melissa and I, Pray that God will provide for all our needs as we continue to preach the good news of Christ here in Spain! and as England are out of the Euros! COME ON SPAIN!!!!

More news from the mission field in Spain Options Dave Hodgson Another busy sunday, preached on God loves a cheerful giver and that if you look out for others God shows you extraordinary grace. BTW I am typing one handed as i have a crying baby on my shoulder. Naomi teaches English on a monday morning and I am on baby duty, whilst in the church office. She has started to smile now which is rewarding even at 4pm in the morning. Naomi Coley Hodgson is doing really well she is natural mum and is far more experienced with children than I am. She is a great wife and I know she works hard looking after Melissa whilst daddy is at work. On a very Spiritual note now, Malaga CF have made it into a champions league position which is great not just for football fans like myself, but also very good for the area and will bring many more people to the costa del sol. Keep us in your prayers. God has blessed us with great supporters so thanks to all who help us. Like · · Unfollow post · 2 seconds ag

More news from the mission field in Spain This week we are starting our "soup and Sandwiches" club where folks who have very little income can come and receive a free lunch (yes there is such a thing). Please pray that the families come and that we can build up better relationships with them. Naomi and Melissa are well albeit Melissa has an upset stomach and she is like her dad she wants to let you know when she has pain. God is good and he is looking after us as a family.

More news from the mission field in Spain Hi Guys, We are all rushed off our feet at the moment. Last week we began distributing food from our food bank. The food comes from the EU and we register familys according to a strict criteria, 20 families came and they were a mixed bunch. Argentinian, Spanish, British, Estonian to mention a few. The worse story was of a woman who will remain nameless in her early 60s from Yorkshire originally, she had no work and no benefits available, she has been eating out of bins and getting her clothes from skips. She use to be a nurse at hospital in leeds. We had opportunity to pray with most of the families and many felt Gods presence. We will be giving out staple food products every few months and we are working with the town hall social services. One in Three unemployed people in the EU is Spanish, 40 percent of spaniards under the the age 25 are unemployed. Folks the need is on our door step here in europe, there are people going hungry on the streets of Spain. please pray that God blesses the work we are doing here in Spain. On a lighter note we had a dedication service for Melissa Rose yesterday and many non believers came and heard the gospel for the first time. Mum and Babe are well and God is good.

More news from the mission field in Spain.

News: Yesterday we had a great meeting, I spoke on "Doing new things" from Joshua 3. A few folks responded to an appeal and one older gentlman broke down in my arms saying he wanted to draw closer to God. I do love the way the Lord can just pinpoint an issue in our lives like he did with this man.
Naomi and Melissa are doing very well and Melissa had a check up at the doctors today, she is all healthy and on course she eats like me, every 2 hours.
The 20s and 30s Group is doing very well and everyone is benefiting from having stronger relationships in that age range in the church.
I recently was a guest speaker at a church in Calahonda near Marbella, its the 2nd time they have asked me to preach there. We had a blessed time, the sermon? well you need to ask them if it was any good or not.
thats all for now.

More news from the mission field in Spain.

Hi friends, Spain calling.

News from the Costa del Sol. If it makes you feel any better let me start by saying that we had minus 2 degrees the other night, winter has arrived here too!

All our weekly activities are back on after the christmas break which actually is until the 6th of January here in Spain for reyes (3 Kings day).
It was with great pleasure that I traveled back to the UK the spend a day with my sending Church Coventry Elim, I love being back there it is like coming home. It was great to catch up with many old friends and see what the Lord was doing there. It felt very different and yet it felt like I Just slotted right back in again.

Our Sunday mornings are going well and last week the church was packed, I taught from Genesis 12 the call of Abraham and how he did not try to negotiate with God but just did as he was told. It was more encouraging than it sounds.

On a personal level I am working three hours a day to suppliment my income, its a an afternoon show and you can listen to me 3-5pm monday to thursday by logging on to this address. www.talkradioeurope.com

We had our final scan this week and our little baby girl should clock in in around 5 weeks time, please pray for a safe delivery, the postal system in Spain is not great and I am hoping the hospitals are better lol.

Thats all folks!

More news from the mission field in Spain

Update from Dave.

Hi guys, I hope you all had a great Christmas. We had a mixed emotioned Christmas. We had the jy of all the Church celebrations and attending a Joint church venture Carol service in the square in fuengirola.

We also had a small family bereavement. One sunday before Christmas I was taking the rubbish out and I caught our Cat Demian (not named by us) being attacked by 5 loose hunting dogs. I managed to get the dogs off him and got him to the vets asap. It looked like I had saved his life but a just over a week later he died. He had an underlying disease that we were unaware of which attacked his inmune system. Normally this would go unoticed but with the extent of his injuries his little body could not cope.
I have been shocked as to how upset i have been of late i was obviously more attached than i realised.

As hard as it is we have to carry on, there is a gospel to be preached and people to be reached.

Please continue to Pray for myself and Naomi and the little baby on its way.

Dave & Naomi xx p.s Happy new year!
